What Is Arranged

Four things, handled properly.

Where you stay

A hotel in the wrong district costs you an hour a day. You receive two or three properties chosen for your budget, your route and how you travel — with the reason for each.

How you move

Shinkansen or a domestic flight. Whether the rail pass earns its cost. When to send luggage ahead. Answered once, for your route, with the exact trains and times.

Where you eat

Japan's best rooms take bookings by telephone, in Japanese, from a Japanese number. I make those calls and confirm the table in your name.

While you are here

A day-by-day plan you can open on your phone, with Juno reachable in Japan if a train is late or a plan needs changing.

Juno, Tokyo-based private travel designer

Meet Juno

You are working with one person.

I live in Tokyo and spend most of my week in the places this work is built on. What you receive comes from a shortlist I keep myself — not an aggregated list you could have found.

  • Based in Tokyo, travelling Japan year-round
  • Japanese-language reservations and phone calls
  • An international traveller's eye for what is actually worth your days
  • A limited number of journeys at a time, so each one gets attention

How It Works

Three steps.

01

A conversation about your trip

You tell me your dates, your pace and what matters. I confirm what I would arrange, and the design fee, before anything is charged.

02

The journey is designed

Stays, routes, tables and daily flow are decided and connected. You review it, and you and I refine it together.

03

You travel

Reservations are held in your name, the plan lives on your phone, and I am reachable in Japan while you are here.

Booking Coordination

Already planned your trip?

If your hotels and cities are already decided, I can take care of restaurant reservations, activities, transportation and other bookings.

Questions

Before you enquire.

Who is this service for?
Travellers who value their time and would rather arrive with one considered plan than research dozens of options themselves.
How far in advance should I enquire?
Four to six weeks before departure at minimum. Sought-after restaurants and rooms fill earlier during cherry blossom in April and autumn foliage in November.
What do I pay you, and what do I pay directly?
You pay a design fee for the planning, curation and reservation work. Hotels, meals, transport and activities are booked in your own name and paid directly by you, at the same rates you would pay otherwise. I earn no supplier commission on recommendations or bookings made for planning clients.
How do the reservations work?
Many of Japan's best restaurants take bookings only by telephone, in Japanese, from a Japanese number. I make those calls and confirm the booking in your name.
What happens after I enquire?
I normally reply within one business day, Monday to Friday, Japan time, to discuss the journey and confirm the scope and design fee before anything is charged. See the cancellation policy for terms.
